Yunzi's Blog

English politics is making me want to chew my own face off.

This blog will contain a large amount of swearing. Don't read if you're of a sensitive disposition. Also if you disagree with me, I don't care and don't wish to hear about it - good for you, call me something under your breath but don't post or email me

And I'm not even talking about the absolute shit show that is the current administration in number 10. A Prime minister that no one wants challenged by no one, probably leading to months of a neutered government that won't do anything as they wait and hope Andy Burnham gets elected somewhere and can come and take over.

Instead of that particular rant - I instead turn to my local government of Worcestershire County Council. I'm going to keep this as politically neutral as possible, in that all sides will come in for abuse and to quote the great Malcolm Tucker - "I wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire and allergic to piss". My council tax has gone up 9%, services are rubbish and potholes are shaking my car to bits and the below is how the useless fuckers choose to spend their time.

A year or so ago Reform had minority control of the council with 27 of the 57 seats. Then one councillor quit on live television prior to the council increasing tax by 9% and needing 60million of emergency government help. Another resigned to ill health (which may be fair enough).

The remaining 25 fucktards then ousted their leader Jo Monk.

HER SON and fellow councillor... I mean seriously having a blood family member also in a position of authority in the same organisation surely, surely must raise great big glaring red flags... was also later suspended. Down to 23. Honestly a family member as a fellow councillor! Seriously what nepotistic fucking shit is this.

Today some of the other parties - including the Conservatives (12 seats I think), Green party (8 possibly), Lib Dems (dunno, some) and some others formed a coalition to oust the remaining Reform party from control of the council. Now normally this would be an absolutely political dick move and really it is. 3 parties who are at opposite ends of the political spectrum gang together to get rid of the party with the largest numbers however really given the rank incompetence. The massive tax rises and 60 Million of emergency bailout money and the total inability of Reform to actually get anything done it is slightly more understandable. That said, how in the hell the proper national political parties (both Green and Tory) are allowing this unholy alliance beats me.

Now... Labour technically haven’t joined the coalition so they are now part of the opposition along with Reform. Again two parties that are at opposite ends of the political spectrum. The Conservatives with the next smallest number of seats. have for reasons passing all normal understanding, appointed a Green to be the council leader. He is quoted as saying "We've got massive cuts" - I think he's nearly right on that, just a matter of spelling. This bunch will now argue, fight, disagree and very likely fail to get anything done as they have basically no politics in common. Its also worth pointing out that the Lib Dems are 1 councillor down as she was (allegedly) a raving anti-semite and has been suspended.

So, dear readers, this is the reality of British politics today. A bunch of poor quality, misguided, argumentative, racist, nepotist nobodies. Meanwhile tax will go up, roads will continue to destroy my car, services won't work and money and time will be wasted on infighting and pointless meetings. I'm not taking a political position, I just want people at the local level doing things for local people. Surely that’s not too much to ask!?
